What is the Nolan's Pub St. Patrick's Day 5k?
Our 5k was brought about by former police officer, and owner of Nolan's Pub, Craig Davide, and his best friend FOP 43 President Karl Lounge. Craig was looking for a way to help his former family in law enforcement and Karl, who is a member of the FOP State Memorial Committee, was looking for a way to fund the lodge's annual memorial trip and provide funds to host families of fallen officers who were to be honored during the ceremony at the Florida State Capital which is held during the first week of May each year.
The Nolan's Pub St. Patrick's Day 5k was born. This is a very unique event because it's completely hosted, planned and held by volunteers, which results in ALL funds raised outside of direct race expenses to be used for their intended purpose.
Our first three races were very successful and we were able to fully fund all of our endeavors. This year we're hoping for an equally successful race and are proud to announce that in addition to providing funds to the Annual Florida State Law Enforcement Memorial and hosting additional families, we're also committing to provide funds to assist the West Central Florida COPS Organization, West Central Florids CISM Team and Law Enforcement United bike ride to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.
We would like to thank everyone who volunteers, participates or comes out to support our run.
